Hi all – Sally was scheduled to have chemo and start steroids today, however after a rough week Nicole noticed early this morning that she was very pale. She was also whimpering, even when being held so Nicole decided to head in early. Turns out that Sally’s blood levels are very low and she developed a fever on the way in. Her ANC is .3, so between that and the fever she has to be admitted. Her hemoglobin was also low so is receiving a red blood transfusion. This is all just likely from the chemo.
Sally tested positive for a cold so will be put in isolation (private room and Big Bird outfits). Our primary in-patient nurse, Adrianne is on duty so is working on getting Sally a room now. Gotta love Mama Adrianne.
The timing is tough as I am in Florida with the boys visiting my parents, so Nicole is on her own. We’re likely going to rely on friends and family to help us get through this until Thansgiving when we return.
We’ll keep you updated, please keep Sally and Nicole in your thoughts and prayers.
Matt
