Fundraiser for Sally

Hi all – Not much to update tonight, Sally had a good day home with Nicole. The only issue we’re having is that she is she has anxiety about being left alone, so didn’t sleep enough today and wouldn’t let Nicole leave her sight. This is understandable in that Sally is so used to having us with her at all times while in the hospital, and doesn’t have to compete with her two brothers. I also want to correct what I wrote yesterday, on Thursday Sally is having another bone marrow BIOPSY, not transplant. I need more sleep.

I wanted to take advantage of an uneventful evening to provide an update on the fundraiser that friends and family are throwing for Sally. The event will take place on Saturday, September 14th from 7-10pm at McFadden’s on 42nd and 2nd in Manhattan. A $40 ticket will get you 3 hours of open bar and food, with 50% of the money going directly to Sally and the other covering the bar costs. I work in the wine & spirits industry and some of our clients have kicked in top shelf liquors to sweeten the deal, including The Macallan single malt scotch, Mount Gay Rum, Brugal Rum and Grand Marnier among other premium spirits.

There will also be raffle items and a silent auction, including a 3D Television that somebody is going to go home with.

If you wish to attend you can pay cash at the door or purchase tickets online here, please note that there is a $2 processing fee per ticket: http://buyblitztickets.com/nDkiG

This is the Facebook page for the event: https://www.facebook.com/events/413047678813609/

Buying advance tickets or RSVPing on Facebook will give us good headcount so the organizers can plan accordingly. Should you not be able to attend but want to contribute to Sally, please visit the following link. All contributions will go to Sally’s treatment. Per our accountant, I also need to make clear that all contributions are non tax-deductible: http://www.sweetsallysunshine.com/contribute/

Should you wish to contribute an item to the raffle/silent auction, or want to help out in some way, please contact AnnMarie at bosc329@aol.com. AnnMarie, Jennifer, Steve and Karen have already done a lot to plan this event, allowing Nicole and I to focus on Sally. It promises to be a fun evening, thanks to all who have already contributed! Please keep Sally in your thoughts and prayers.

Matt
